Kellnr on Nodion: questions and answers

How do I deploy Kellnr on Nodion?

Sign in to Nodion, open the Kellnr preset and pick a project and a region. Nodion creates the app with a managed PostgreSQL database and an S3-compatible bucket, sets the environment variables and starts the first deploy.

Is this the same as self-hosting Kellnr?

You get your own Kellnr instance in your Nodion project. The difference: Nodion runs the servers, so there is no machine of your own to install and maintain.

How much does it cost to run Kellnr on Nodion?

The starting setup costs about 3.50 EUR per month: App DS-G2-512MB, 512 MB RAM 2 EUR, PostgreSQL DS-G2-256MB, 256 MB RAM 1.50 EUR. Object Storage is billed by usage. Prices are net and billed per second. You can pick bigger sizes in the form.

What should I do after the first deploy?

Sign in as admin with the generated password in KELLNR_SETUP__ADMIN_PWD. After login, open Settings and create a cargo token, or use the generated KELLNR_SETUP__ADMIN_TOKEN for cargo.

Which version of Kellnr does Nodion deploy?

The preset sets the image ghcr.io/kellnr/kellnr:6.9.0. Your app keeps that image tag until you change it on the app's Processes tab.

Can I use my own domain for Kellnr?

Yes. Every app gets a default hostname with HTTPS. Add your own domain on the app's Domains tab.

Where does Kellnr run?

In the region you pick: EU Central (Germany), US East and US West (United States) or APAC Central (Singapore). Build, registry and runtime stay in that region.
