App Platform

Managed databases on local NVMe.

Postgres, pgvector, MySQL, Valkey and ClickHouse next to your apps. Attach in one click, scale with replicas, keep backups.

Same region, private hostname, no credentials to copy by hand.

Engines

Five engines, one way to run them.

Pick the engine and a version when you create the database. Everything else works the same.

PostgreSQL

The relational default for most apps.

pgvector

Postgres with vector search for embeddings.

MySQL

For apps and frameworks built on MySQL.

Valkey

Redis-compatible cache and queues, REDIS_URL included.

ClickHouse

Columnar analytics on large event data.

Built in

Production features, not add-ons.

Local NVMe

Every plan comes with local NVMe storage. A -L plan doubles the disk at the same compute.

Attach in one click

Attach a database on the app's Environment tab. Connection details land as env vars on the next deploy.

Replicas and HA

Read replicas and an HA standby for Postgres, pgvector and MySQL. HA for Valkey, three-node clusters for ClickHouse.

Backups and restore

Turn on backups where the engine supports them. A restore creates a new database and leaves the original untouched.

Private by default

Apps reach the database on an internal hostname. Public access with TLS is optional.

Fresh data for previews

Every preview environment gets its own empty database, never a copy of production.
