Nodion is a cloud hosting platform (PaaS) that lets you deploy applications without managing servers. We run four regions around the globe and support standard Dockerfiles, Buildpacks and offer managed services for PostgreSQL, MySQL and Valkey™. Together with our Object Storage, Block Storage Volumes and Transactional Emails, you get an all-in-one platform designed to simplify deployment.

Besides hosting custom applications, we offer one-click deployment of open source apps on top of our managed services. We call these "Deploy to" buttons application presets, and we now share revenue with the people behind them. You probably know the pattern from other providers: a single click installs an open source app on their infrastructure. Nodion's Partner Revenue Sharing takes that idea one step further and actually pays the maintainers behind those buttons.

In practice, we share a portion of the revenue generated from "Deploy to Nodion" buttons with the owners or organisations behind the projects. Open source is what powers a lot of what we run, and we'd rather give something back than just profit from it.

How does it work?

Nodion's application presets power our "Deploy to" buttons, so users can deploy an application with a single click. Open source maintainers can claim their preset and every application deployed through it qualifies for revenue sharing.

Partner program

We build an application preset for your project, and you claim it. You add a Nodion-powered "Deploy to" button to your website, your docs and your README, and we work with you on a "Deploy to Nodion" doc page. In return, you get 40% of the revenue from every application deployed through your claimed preset (the URL behind the deploy button).

Revenue sharing example

Say your preset generates 1.000,00 € in revenue on our platform in April. After subtracting payment processing fees and free tier usage, we share 40% of what's left. If 10% are free tier users and payment fees come to 30,00 €, you'd receive 360,00 €. Payouts go out on the 15th of every month for the previous month's revenue, so in this example you'd see the money on May 15.

Open source projects with SaaS options

A lot of open source projects also run a SaaS version these days, and we're happy to support that side too. If you host your SaaS version on Nodion, you get 50% off everything we offer. In return, we ask for a "Hosted on Nodion" link on your website and a "Deploy to Nodion" button for your users.

Who qualifies?

Open source projects with a self-hosted option and up-to-date, publicly available Docker images (think Docker Hub or GitHub Container Registry) qualify. It's a fairly new program, so we're still figuring things out as we go and would love your feedback.

Beyond the partner program, we support open source projects with free hosting for websites and demo applications, plus free bandwidth through our Content Delivery Network.
