Nodion Partner Program

Nodion is a cloud hosting platform (PaaS) that enables users to seamlessly host their applications. We offer 4 regions around the globe and support standard Dockerfiles, Buildpacks, and offer managed services for PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Valkey™. Combined with our Object Storage and Transactional Email services, we provide an all-in-one platform designed to simplify deployment.

In addition to hosting custom applications, we offer one-click deployment of open-source applications using our managed services. For our "Deploy to" buttons, which we call application presets, we now provide a revenue-sharing model for open-source project owners. Many users are familiar with "Deploy to" buttons, which allow hosting of open-source applications on a provider’s infrastructure with a single click. Nodion’s Partner Revenue Sharing Program enhances this functionality to support the open-source ecosystem.

Specifically, we share a portion of the revenue generated from "Deploy to" buttons with the owners or organizations behind the respective open-source projects. This initiative fosters sustainable development and maintenance of open-source projects, rewarding maintainers for their contributions. Our goal is to strengthen the open-source community by ensuring that we, as a hosting platform, not only benefit from these projects but also give back to those who drive them.

How Does It Work?

Nodion’s application presets power our "Deploy to" buttons, enabling users to deploy an application with a single click. Open-source maintainers can claim their presets, and all applications deployed using these presets qualify for revenue sharing.

We’ll create an application preset for your project, which you can claim. You’ll add a Nodion-powered "Deploy to" button to your website, documentation and Git repository’s README file, and collaborate with us to enhance your documentation with a "Deploy to Nodion" page. In return, we offer 40% revenue sharing for all applications generated through your claimed preset (the URL behind the deploy button).

Revenue Sharing Example

Suppose your preset generates 1.000,00 € in revenue on our platform in April. After subtracting payment processing fees and free tier usage, we share 40% of the remaining amount. For example, if 10% are free tier users and payment fees total 30,00 €, you would receive 360,00 €. Payouts are made on the 15th of each month for the previous month’s revenue, in this case, May 15.

Open Source Projects with SaaS Options

Many open source projects offer SaaS versions now, which we fully support as well. For projects hosting their SaaS version on Nodion, we provide a 50% discount on all of our services. In return, we ask for a "Hosted on Nodion" link on your website and the integration of a "Deploy to Nodion" button for your users.

Who Qualifies?

Open source projects with a self-hosted option and up-to-date, publicly available Docker images (e.g., on Docker Hub or GitHub Container Registry) are eligible. As this is a new program, we’re actively refining it and welcome your feedback to help us improve.

Supporting Open Source

In addition to our partner programs, we support open source projects by offering free hosting for websites, demo applications, as well as free bandwidth through our Content Delivery Network.
